Diamond FAQs

Yes, absolutely. Lab Grown diamonds and Mined diamonds are chemically the same product, it’s just how they are made that differs. You can learn more here: https://www.diamondsonrichmond.co.nz/post/considering-lab-grown-diamonds-here-s-what-you-need-to-know

The 4 C’s are Carat, Colour, Cut & Clarity. You can learn more here:https://www.diamondsonrichmond.co.nz/post/the-diamond-buying-guide-the-4cs-of-diamondsor get in touch with one of our Client Managers who can answer any questions you may have.

This really comes down to your personal preferences, but we believe cut and colour are the two most important aspects of a grade. The cut grade of a diamond determines how much sparkle a diamond has, which is why we only work with Ideal, Excellent and Very Good cut grade stones. The colour is the next most noticeable aspect of a diamond, but together with clarity, carat and other characteristics outside of the 4 C’s form a fully rounded picture of each diamond.

Yes, we source the very best of GIA certified diamonds, along with a range of other reputable grading companies.

Wedding Ring FAQs

Most people organise their wedding rings about 3 months out from the big day. Our normal turn around time is 5-6 weeks. But please still do get in touch if you need it sooner, as we can sometimes make miracles happen. Urgency fees may apply.

Yes, we can. Additional custom design fees may apply.

Your wedding band will constantly spin while being worn, so having the diamonds the entire way round means your ring will always be facing the “right way up” and will avoid repetitively twisting your ring back into place.

As the ring will constantly be spinning around, any general wear and tear will be evenly spread.

Absolutely, we have a wide range of men’s wedding ring styles you can order from.

Precious Metal FAQs

This is completely up to you, depending on which metal you like the look of. If choosing for someone else, take a look at the colour of the jewellery they currently wear, or just ask them what their favourite is. We are here to help with any technical questions you may have about the different metals and alloys.

White Gold is a gold alloy containing yellow gold and other white coloured precious metals to alter the colour. Most white gold is Rhodium plated to give the piece a bright white finish. Platinum is another type of precious metal, it is a very dense metal and harder wearing than White Gold, Platinum has a silver white finish that does not require rhodium plating.

We work with all precious metals: 9ct, 14ct & 18ct Yellow Gold, Rose Gold & White Gold, plus Platinum.

We recommend you use the same type of metal for your wedding ring. Each metal alloy has unique characteristics and hardnesses. When worn together, the rings will rub and wear slightly, if one if harder than the other it will wear away the softer one much faster.

No, we only work with precious metals: 9ct, 14ct & 18ct Yellow Gold, Rose Gold & White Gold, plus Platinum.
